Ryan & Theresa Tie the Knot!!

Well, it’s official…Ryan and Theresa are married.
The newly wedded couple enjoyed a weekend of festivities with their families and friends in the Kansas City area. The fun and craziness began Friday afternoon and ended Sunday morning.
Guests began showing up at the Crowne Plaza Hotel early Friday afternoon and they hung out for several hours on the 18th and 19th floors. While the wedding party was at the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner in the evening, many members of Gillispie family walked a couple of blocks down to the Power and Light District in downtown KC. The family went bowling at the Lucky Strike. The winner of the first game was the men’s team, led by Bill. Vivian was taking charge in the second game as the women were leading, but time ran out before the family could finish the contest.
After walking around the Power and Light District for a while, the family was joined members of the wedding party at Chipotle. A little bit later, they were walking back to the hotel when Vivian stumbled in a fountain and soon found herself waist deep in cold water. The rest of the night was spent in Cleo and Tom’s room (the party room) or at Harry’s Country Club (Tom’s brother’s pub).
Saturday morning came early for a few people as the family went out for breakfast. Then they gathered at Mike and Barbara’s to watch the KU football game at Iowa State. Some of the family left early to participate in wedding pictures before the ceremony, while the others watched the pitiful first half of football by the Jayhawks. The wedding ceremony went off without a hitch. Ryan and Theresa exchanged their vows, rings, lit the unity candle and were married in a Catholic wedding that lasted around one hour. Although everyone was smiling and happy for the married couple, the Gillispie family was especially excited when it heard the news of the Jayhawks’ comeback victory over the Cyclones.
The reception kicked off with an open bar. Ryan and Theresa soon made their entrance and dinner was served. After the traditional dances that included the bride, groom and their parents, the party started.
Turner was a highlight on the dance floor all night. His spin moves and break dancing made him an instant hit. Jimmy even led a conga line that included most of the people at the reception.
After the reception ended, the family and some of the wedding party headed back to room 1824. They ordered pizza and continued to party. When most people headed to bed, Jimmy, Bill, Deeon and Kevin (Deeon’s cousin) walked down to the Power and Light District.
Down there, they fought through the crowds and wanted to ride the bull in the PBR bar. Unfortunately, the bull was out of order. Bill headed back to the hotel while the other three guys razzed two Missouri fans.
On Sunday morning, the family headed home or went to the breakfast at Theresa’s parents’ house.
The Gossiper heard someone got a bit sick on their ride home Saturday night, but it wasn’t the same person who felt bad after Billy and Joyce’s wedding on Sept. 13.
Ryan and Theresa will be taking a two-week honeymoon to Europe. They will also take a Mediterranean cruise before returning to Kansas.
