This is a new segment. It will feature some movies that will open in theaters this week. I love watching a movie talk show on YouTube every day and I want to share some info on movies coming up, so you can think about going to see some great films. Click the movie name for more information.
Here's the first week:
Sicario
Plot: An idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by an elected government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico.
Starring: Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin
Rated: R
My opinion: This movie looks awesome!! It technically opened in a very small release and had a wider release last week before a huge release this week. I can't wait to see this.
The Martian
Plot: During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
Starring: Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels
Rated: PG-13
My opinion: In a week of very good movies, this might be the best one. Reviews are raving about this movie and I'm also excited about this movie. I've heard nothing but rave reviews of this movie.
The Walk
Plot: In 1974, high-wire artist Philippe Petit recruits a team of people to help him realize his dream: to walk the the immense void between the World Trade Center towers.
Starring: Joseph Gordon-Levitt
My opinion: This movie has the potential to be very good. The trailers haven't showed much, but I like that. I love the quote in one trailer, that says "The only thing crazier than what I did was how I did it." I love the premise - which is based on a true story - so I want to see this, too.
