20 Questions: Gossiper Editor Part II

20 Questions

1. Full Name: Leslie Anne Gillispie

2. Dream vacation destination: As much as I would love to visit China, my dream vacation destination would have to be Kenya. I’m not sure where in Kenya, but Africa is a place we all forget about. And the history and culture that is in Africa really is inspirational!

3. Book: “Wisdom of Our Fathers” by Tim Russert; It was a fun and easy read; It was kids writing letters to Tim Russert after his first book, “Big Russ and Me.” It was just stories from their childhood or earlier years and how their fathers inspired them and taught them lessons they would never forget. I strongly recommend this book if you are looking for a great and fast read.

4. Pet peeves: When people don’t call each other back. I don’t care if they leave a message or not, they called you and it should warrant a call back; Also, when people say they are going to do something and never do it. I maybe guilty of the same things once in a while, but it’s not on purpose.

5. Describe yourself in one word: Fascinating

6. Favorite quote: “We must be the change we want to see in the world”; Gandhi

7. Best lesson learned from your parents: Well, I am going to break this up between my mother and father; The lesson I learned from my mother would have to be: do what you have to do, whether or not you like it or not. The lesson from my dad: If you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late!

8. What is one of your favorite things to do? Sudoku and Search A Word puzzles

9. Favorite meal? My dad’s barbeque chicken and rice, yummy!

10. What do you do (think) when you believe nobody is looking? If I am at work and listening to music, sing. I don’t sing out loud, but I am definitely singing!

11. Favorite snack food? Nachos with jalapenos

12. Are you a rebel or do you follow the rules? I like to think I am a rebel but also follow the rules. I have my own line of thinking of how things should be, but I also realize (most of the time) that following the rules is necessary. There’s a time to follow the rules and there are times to be a rebel and figuring that out is a challenge at times!

13. If you could live somewhere else, where would it be? New York City; If I could afford to live there, that would be an awesome place to live. There is always something going on in New York City and there is great food there!

14. If you could do one thing over in life, what would it be? Well, if I had my choice as a kid, I would have gone to church more often. Not going to church as a kid makes it difficult as an adult to fully understand God and what He wants. Not that I can’t go to church now, but it’s hard for one to know what one believes.

15. Favorite holiday and why? Christmas, although the spirit of the holiday has slipped, there is still a general feeling of giving among many people. Getting together with family and enjoying each other makes Christmas a great holiday. Thanksgiving is a good holiday, but there is something about Christmas time that brings out the spirit of giving in everyone.

16. Favorite song? Anybody who knows me well will say there is one song that I love. And that song is Amazing Grace. That song sends chills down my spine when I hear it, whether it’s somebody singing it or bagpipes playing it, it is just a moving song. I want it played at my funeral! God Bless America is a close second.

17. If you went back to school, what would you study? I would get a Master’s in Women’s Studies. Women have come so far and fought so hard, but we can’t be satisfied with where we are. I’m tired of hearing women saying there won’t be a women president in their lifetime. I just have to say, well, you have to take responsibility for what you do and take the fight head on like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and others did to gain the right to vote. And learning more about the role of women in society would be fascinating!

18. Early riser or deep sleeper? Early riser….I always loved early classes in college because I would have the rest of the afternoon to either goof off or go to work. And then I would be done with class the rest of the day!

19. Popsicle or fudgsicle and why? There is nothing better than a cherry popsicle in the heat of a Kansas summer. Popsicles are better to cool one off in the summer time. Fudgesicles are good, but they don’t do the job like a popsicle does!

20. If you could live in another time period, when would it be? I would love to live 100 years from now. Just to see how much the world will change in that amount of time would be something else. Just think how far the world has come in the past 100 years, just imagine what the world would be like 100 years from now when the world is rapidly changing in our lifetime!!
